If you go with the M4A785-M, do be sure to test out the SASLP-MV8 thoroughly, I believe Raj had some major headaches with the PCI Express on that board.  Possibly bad luck, possibly an issue with the board design.  I'm running the same motherboard and it's working great, but I haven't had to expand beyond the onboard SATA connections yet.

For memory I used Kingston 2GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Desktop Memory Model KVR800D2N6/2G

As for the the M4A78LT-M LE, avoid it.  There is a compatibility issue with the Atheros NIC on that board so you'll have to get a PCI NIC until unRAID can support it in a later build.

Found the related thread and it doesn't look promising.  He was very thorough in testing two motherboards, and the SASLP was confirmed good in another system.  In the end he returned the board.  There are some indications that it could be a video conflict or that the SASLP may not play nice with that system.  Either way, if you're looking for a painless build and you do need the expansion beyond the 6 onboard SATA connections, you might have to do some homework to find another board.

I will look into changing the card.  Thanks for the link to the thread.
