UINRAID array looses parity (alot)

Recommended Posts

i have been having issues with my UNRAID lately that I use for PLEX. It seems once I get my libraries all loaded, the next morning my array has stopped! I have noticed that in the UNRAID dashboard disk 2 SMART TEST shows error:

does anyone have an idea of what might be causing my array to go offline or any things I can do to trouble shoot this issue?

sutterstuff-syslog-20210201-1648.zip

That SMART error is probably a red herring as it looks like a single CRC error which is not really significant.

When you say that the array has ‘stopped’ what exactly do you mean?    Do you mean the server is still running but the array is in a stopped state; the server appears to have crashed or the server itself has shutdown or something else?

After 5 days of UNRAID parity uptime, yesterday again I had to restart the array because it stopped. Today, I am looking at the log:

Two hours after I copied this, I find that my array is undefined AGAIN. I try to either view the system log or download the System Log but nothing happens.

Any ideas why my array would suddenly stop again and agan and again?

I looked at the syslog this morning after rebooting my UNRAID and got the array to start up again.  I find the following errors over and over that happened yesterday. It is now the next day at 5:55am. I am still trying to find why my unraid array goes offline.

This is happening to me  a lot! In fact, the moment I rebuild my PLEX libraries, the array becomes undefined! No power loss, no network down... as far as I know.

I did download a diagnostic log right after restarting the NAS and in the syslog.txt, I found this:

I have my OS on a thumb USB drive... when I do a reboot, I will check there. So, within the GUI, I cannot perform a memtest

No,  while it is running memtest requires exclusive use of the machine with no OS getting in the way

I have been running memtest for over 4 hours and so far everything shows PASS. I will continue running the test as recommended by many to see if anything shows up.

Any other things I could check to see why the array has consistently gone offline so often?
