Johnster
Hello everyone, I installed unraid a few days ago and since then i've been playing with my favorite apps. Yesterday morning i had installed plex and everything was running smoothly until last night when i found my ryzen 3600 all spiked up at 70-80% usage. I quickly installed netdata and found this: - my cpu usage was somewhere about 75% up; - there were disk writes at about 100 mb/s; - my ram was used about 90%; - my network activity went down and up without anything being downloaded/uploaded. Netdata said something about iowait being the problem. Without knowing what really is the cause, i stopped plex and everything went back to normal. I took this diagnosis right after i stopped plex docker. Right now i have plex running and everything seems to be fine (for the moment). Could this be actually a faulty disk? Or bad configuration? I have 2x4TB ironwolf disks. Thank you! Edited February 14, 2021 by Johnster Quote Link to comment
ChatNoir
Are you sure there is no scheduled task in Plex causing this ? Quote Link to comment
Johnster
Thanks for pointing this out. I think this might have been the problem, as i observed this high cpu usage at around 02:30 am. Maybe this one should be unchecked "Perform extensive media analysis during meintenance", as all the others seem to be cpu friendly. Quote Link to comment
asg5704
Just wanted to give an update as well since I was running into a similar issue. My CPU load was spiking from 5% to 80% The issue was in Plex with the Intro detection / Credits detection for my TV shows. I modified my library to disable this and within seconds the CPU went to a negligble 1%-5% Quote Link to comment
