February 10, 20215 yr Recently my unRAID server started showing parity errors, so I replaced a drive that had some smart errors. I thought this would fix it, and it did show 0 errors after install, but the parity errors are back. I see a new drive has SMART issues - Reallocated sector count of 8. That number isn't increasing, at least since I noticed it, and from what I have read, this is a normal thing for modern drives? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm running unRAID 6.8.3 Plugins: Community Apps Fix Common Problems Unassigned Devices, Plus User Scripts And a Plex docker. Thank you! ovi-diagnostics-20210210-0827.zip
February 10, 20215 yr Author Thanks, made it through 1 pass with no errors. I'll let it run overnight.
February 13, 20215 yr Author 68 hours and 31 passes later, still 0 errors on the memory, so that seems to be ok. Does anyone have any idea why I keep getting parity errors? Thanks.
February 14, 20215 yr Community Expert If it's not RAM it can be a controller or even a hard drive, unfortunately no easy way to test except rule out one thing at a time.
