Combining PC and Unraid server together

I am thinking about doing this with a Node 304 case with 6 hdds. 

 

Few questions on how things will work:

 

1) Does the server and pc have seperate ip addresses?

 

2) On the pc do you map unraid shares as normal?

 

3) How do you transfer files from pc to server?

 

4) Is write speed faster? (Current write speed is 110MBps).

Assuming that you are aware that the "PC" would be a VM on Unraid......

They would have whatever network IPs that you wanted because you would set a static ip on your router for each one.

Yes as long as you set the correct network configuration type for the VM to access the host network.

Same way you'd do it now.. SMB/ftp/whatever.

Don't think so as it would technically still be transferring over the network.
