Dell PowerEdge RAID Controller H710P (on R720) and Unraid

Featured Replies

Hello,

I recently purchased a Dell Poweredge R720 with 12 drives (6 SAS and 6 SATA) and am wondering how to setup the drives.

Drives in my system:

8 Seagate 500Gb SAS Drives

2 Seagate 500Gb SATA Drives

6 Seagate 250Gb SATA Drives

I currently have two RAID-5 setup which i did through idrac7. Instead of making a RAID configuration on H710p, am I somehow able to make each drive a seperate disk in Unraid?

If so, any insight on how I can do this?

Hi,

You'll need to break the RAID-5 setup and run the PERC card either as JBOD or create individual RAID0 arrays for each drive, I can't recall if the Dell PERC cards allow you run drives in JBOD or not.
