February 15, 20215 yr The W-1200 series of Xeon processors require a motherboard with the W480 chipset, will not work with Z490. You're mixing server/workstation cpu with consumer motherboard... you have to go one way or the other, all server grade hardware or all consumer grade hardware. For that motherboard you'd need a LGA1200 Core i5/i7/i9
