February 19, 20215 yr I searched this topic for "undelete" and could not find it. I must have made a search error as this seems impossible that no one has requested undelete. I recall when it was added to Windows due to large demand. A great feature I would gladly allocate disk space for. I do see people asking if there is an undelete feature, but not in the Feature Request topic. I see: "There are no known undelete tools for the Reiser file system, which the unRAID system uses for each data drive. However, there are techniques that can be used to recover files." Reiser needs to do better. I thought it only needs to do a Move To Trashcan in the background, instead of delete. Edited February 19, 20215 yr by xrqp

XFS and BTRFS are now supported and are better options. ReiserFS is still supported, but not recommended. You should consider migrating to one of the other supported files systems.
February 19, 20215 yr Author I must have been looking at a very old help document about Unraid and ReiserFS. My array disks do show xfs.
February 19, 20215 yr Can vouch for the Recycle Bin plugin. It is fantastic and has saved my arse plenty of times...
March 8, 20215 yr Author of Recycle Bin seems quick to add features, like my request for an 'Are you sure' button for manual deletion of files was quickly added.
April 28, 20215 yr I am not expert Linux or unraid person but need to undelete some files. So how do I tell if mine are xfs?
March 6, 20242 yr This was something i miss coming from a Synology NAS, they have a trash for every share that is system wide so not only SMB like the Recycle Bin plugin. Really miss that so i hope this is still under consideration.

Likewise, with ZFS, I hope that we can just trigger a snapshot to be taken of certain shares/datasets one day and then avoid needing to use a traditional trash dir (that would be cool).
