Hi there just wondering I will be building my unraid server in a few days and just want to make sure I have all my facts straight. With the latest version of Unraid I Don't have to put the jumpers on WD20EARS drives now correct. Thanks

Nope, just make sure you use the latest version of the preclear script and use the advance format option.

Correct.. but you never "had" to add jumpers.

With unRAID 4.7 it is possible to partition a disk with it 4k-aligned.   You should set the setting on the web-management page to MBR 4k-aligned.

If you preclear the disks, use the most current preclear script and it will respect your 4k-aligned setting.

(or force it by using the "-A" option)

Can I still use the WD20EARS without the jumper if I'm mixing them with difference brands of HDD's.
