February 25, 20215 yr I have been trying to load UNRaid on a 32 Gig USB Stick from My Linux (Debian) box. I have syslinux installed on my linux system. I have searched for installing instructions, but all I have found are several years old. The following is what I have come up with: Procedure Used To Submit For Help Download UNRaid Zip File 6.8.3 Save To Download shemp_software/unraid-6.8.3 Unzip File (unzip unRAIDServer-6.8.3x86_64.zip) Format USB Drive As Fat 32 (Using disk program) (Takes About 30 Sec.) Name = UNRAID (All In Caps) Mount UNRAID USB Stick cd /media/gemckee/UNRAID cp -rf shemp_sotware/unraid-6.8.3/* ./ Open Linux Terminal (Not On USB Drive) cd ~ sudo umount UNRAID (sudo umount /media/gemckee/UNRAID) Open Folder Where UNRaid Files Were Unzipped (shemp_software/unraid-6.8.3) sudo bash make_bootable_linux Check Weather Or Not To Use UEFI (No) (Or N, Makes No Difference) If Failed, Run Again Remove USB Stick Install In New Machine & boot to USB stick. Get “BOOTMGR is missing message” When I put the USB stick in the future UNRAID machine I receive the message BOOTMGR missing The machine will boot other USB sticks. Any specific suggestions on what I am doing wrong is appreciated. Thanks Gary E. McKee
March 4, 20215 yr Author Well it looks like nobody had suggestions for solving my problem. I was using Debian 8.xx so I tried to setup the USB stick on a different machine running Debian 10 and the stick does kind of boot up. It is recognized, but does not fully boot UNRaid, but that if for further investigation so I will close this out. Gary E. McKee
