February 26, 20215 yr Hi all, I'm brand new to the home server world and have just completed the hardware build of what was going to be a great night of adventure and discovery!..allas, I can't get unraid to work for me The pc/server is a brand new build with the following specs: Ryzen 5 3600 CPU ASRock B550 PG Velocita AM4 ATX Motherboard 2 x WD Red 4TB HDD An old Gigabyte 960 GPU 2x 8GB RAM 2666Mhz The computer boots to BIOS fine and I've flashed a BIOS update for the 3600 CPU. I've not preinstalled any other OS on the HDD's. I'm connected to the internet via the same etheret cable I use on my main pc, so I know the internet connection in is good. I've download the Unraid USB creator tool from https://unraid.net/download and have installed it on an 8Gb Sandisk UBB which has been formated to FAT32. I boot from the USB and it loads the blue OS option screen for unraid and it selects Unraid OS Headless after a few seconds. I get all the way down to it saying: unRAID Server OS version: 6.8.3 IPv4 address: 169.254.xxx.xxx IPv6 address: not set When I try enter the 169.254 address into a browser of another computer it wont connect. I don't know if its an issue, but my normal ip address to my asus modem/ router is 192.168.xxx.xxx Please, if anyone could help, I'd be very appreciative! Edited February 26, 20215 yr by Corax
February 26, 20215 yr Community Expert You would need to use the 6.9.0-rc release to have support for the NIC on that board. The 6.8.3 release does not have the required drivers.
