I am currently using the onboard sata 4TB drives x4 +Parity +cach 6 drives in all. my question is can i upgrade to LSI controller card without losing data or do i have to start from scratch?
March 2, 20215 yr Hello, This should not be an issue as Unraid identifies disks by their S/N. Be sure that the card is in (or can be flashed to) IT mode. A list of known good controllers : If needed, how to flash in IT mode :
March 2, 20215 yr I knew I forgot one thing I wanted to say. It is generally better not to connect your SSDs to older LSI cards, so keep them on your MB SATA ports if possible.
