UnRAID Boots Fine, but sometimes No Local Network

Featured Replies

Hello, I am having a continuing problem with my UnRAID box.

Upon reboot, UnRAID itself will boot fine, but with no network. If I choose the GUI option I  can load up the interface, navigate around, check dockers etc... Everything loads up fine, but no access to my local network or internet. I have found the only way to bring it back is leave it for a while and reboot, and then it MIGHT work properly. Or might need additional reboots.

Been having this problem for a few months now (rarely reboot my server), now actually trying to get to the bottom of it.

While the network is not working, but logging on locally:

  • Doing an ifconfig eth0 shows the network adapter with its static IP.
  • Doing a lspci egrep network|ethernet shows the NIC fine.
  • Doing a ping on the routers address from the UnRAID box gets Destination Host Unreachable.

Thank you in advance.

Note: At 10:10 in the log I physically unplugged the network cable for a moment as part of diagnosics

Sounds like an intermittent hardware issue. Check all ethernet cables and ports involved.

What do you get with this when the problem occurs?

ethtool eth0

Thank you.
Had to reboot twice to get it to not work. This picture was taken when the network was NOT working.

Have you tried rebooting router?

Yep. Router (Unifi USG3) has been rebooted. Waited for it to come up properly before trying to boot UnRAID. Issue remains.
