General Question about Plex

Featured Replies

I have just upgraded my Unraid to 6.9 and at the same time I have transfer my media library over to Linuxserver/plex as I wanted to start to use my Nvidia GPU for transcode, but I have encounter a problem.

my media and all the library's has came of with no issues, but when I try and watch my Plex on my LG smart TV or on my phone I am getting issues.

in my phone I can see all my library's and media but when I try and play a film or tv show, all I am getting is a very long buffering screen, and then just the sound.  this happens if I am on wireless or not. with my TV. I am able to connect to plex and once I am within plex app, all I am getting is a very base screen, no library's, no free plex media nothing.

I have also tried logging out and logging back in, and I am still getting the same results.

the second thing I have tried is to return back to my old plex container "PlexMediaServer by plexinc and also I am getting the same results.

so my question is: has anyone else encounter this ?  and if it is a plex problem when I will go and talk with plex but as it is happening with two plex contactors then I am lead to think it is a unraid issue, how I don't know

Doubtful, since unRAID has no bearing whatsoever on how/what things are displayed in the Plex interface.

It sounds like something might have been tweaked or corrupted in the Plex databases, especially since you see the same thing in both containers and with multiple Plex clients.

Do you have backup of the Plex database from before the problems and have you tried restoring a database backup?

EDIT: You might find this helpful.

I do have a backup - which I have tried and also I have tried a clean database for both plex containers, which lead me to think it might be unraid.

OK update:  I got my TV to work and I am able to watch programs on this with no issues but my phone is still doing the audio only.

to resole the first problem, and after a lot of head banging on the wall, I discovered that my Plex Only SSD is damage which is suppressing as I have no error message and I am still able to use it as a non Plex HD.

so at the moment I have moved my Plex Database back into the cache drive and all is working.

and my next step is to post a message in the linuxserver/plex Fourm to see if there is a none issue with the phone App
