Micro Center has a great deal on this mobo with an Athlon CPU, so I was wondering if anyone had tried this board with unRAID? A search turned up nothing.

    That motherboard only has 3 expansion slots and only 4 sata slots.  If you have a use for the processor then getting the board for $1 might be ok.  But for unRAID I'd get less cpu and more motherboard.

    Understand, but I was thinking with a couple cheap 2 port HBA's from monoprice, it would make a nice combo to put in my 8 bay case w/ power supply.

    Well, the price is good for that.  I bought a combo intel e4300 + some mobo like that.  Currently the cpu is being used in an XMBC box and the motherboard works as a test machine.
