Unraid failing to boot. Stuck on vfio-pci, including safe mode boot

Featured Replies

So Suddenly my unraid server became unreachable.  I turned on the monitor connected to the tower and there was no display so I pushed the power button on the tower.  It shut down after 5 minutes (Hopefully cleanly) and I restarted.

Now when I start it it gets stuck on loading (In both regular and safe mode) at this line:

vfio-pci 0000:08:00.0 vgaarb: changed VGA decodes: olddecodes=io+mem,decodes=io+mem:owns=io+mem

I do have a VM with video card passthrough enabled, but It was turned off, and its also set to off on autoboot (I hardly use it).  What can I do to recover and get back into Unraid?

Try deleting or renaming /config/vfio-pci.cfg

Thanks.  I put the stick in my windows PC and deleted the file.  It worked.  I hope this doesn't happen every time I reboot if using a VM with a graphics passthrough.

This fixed my issue too, thank you!

Just hit this myself from an unclean shutdown.

Or use SSH and MC to
deleting or renaming /config/vfio-pci.cfg
And then Reboot

And thanks for the hit with renaming /config/vfio-pci.cfg

I've been working on an unraid server for a few weeks now, and was going insane after a bad reboot.

Thank you so much!
