Licenses after Upgrading - independent or linked?

I have two licenses, 1 x Basic and 1 x Plus. The Plus license was purchased as an upgrade.


Do I now have one or two independent licenses? Can I use them on two different systems or is the Plus version linked to the Basic?

 

I want to use the Pro version on a new server with more HDDs and the Basic for a transition period on the previous and wonder if it is possible. 

 

Of course I know that I have to bind the Pro license to the new USB stick after transferring it to the new server.
