I had a problem over the weekend, and I'm not sure what the solution is. I've been using "My Servers" since I upgraded to 6.9.X and it's a nice feature. This weekend, however, I shut my server down to swap some lower capacity drives for larger capacity ones. I rebooted, and couldn't access my server on my local network. I utilize PiHole as my DNS server in a VM.....and without my array running I could not access the internet, and my browser wouldn't let me access me server via the local IP address. It kept trying to point me to the Unraid.net address.

I ended up having to use my cell phone as a hot-spot, and then I could access my server that way and restart my array. Could there be a easier way to access the server locally?

If your Internet goes down and you are unable to resolve the DNS for https://yourpersonalhash.unraid.net:port , the quick temporary fix is to access https://ipaddress:port instead (note httpS and not http). You will need to ignore the browser warning about the url not matching the certificate, that is to be expected because you are purposefully not using the correct url.  When your Internet comes back up you can switch back to the proper url.

Thanks for the offer! I'm 98% sure I know what is going on here so it shouldn't be needed. It should be fairly tough to trigger this bug so hopefully not a lot of people hit it.

We just released an updated plugin that masks the underlying problem so nobody else will get to see the webgui completely breaking like that. Apologies to the people who did "get" to see it.

I expect we'll have another plugin update later today that fully fixes the underlying problem. In the meantime a small number of (un)lucky folks might get signed out of Unraid.net after upgrading, and possibly have trouble signing back in. The next fix will resolve that.

Updated at lunch from Unraid.net to Myserver and I came back to work and I don't have access. Lol

I'll investigate when I get home.

Hey everyone! We've got one more update of the Unraid.net My Servers plugin for you that resolves the problems from earlier. Please update at your earliest convenience.

As part of this we are cleaning up the branding for this plugin. It is now the "My Servers" plugin, and you sign in with your "Unraid.net account".

If the UPC shows an error message at first, don't worry, it should resolve in less than a minute. If the error persists then you can open a webterminal and type:

unraid-api start

Doh! Sorry about that, I guess you were one of the (un)lucky ones. It should just be a matter of updating the plugin one more time, then signing back in.

Updated and couldn't connect. The realized it defaulted to "NO on allow remote connection"

Up and running again.

Is there any way to get older version? In my case theme engine is broken now.

No, Unraid's plugin system is designed to always install the latest version.

I'm not sure what the incompatibly is, but some people are reporting a work around over in the Theme Engine support thread:

  https://forums.unraid.net/topic/87126-plugin-theme-engine-a-webgui-styler/page/4/

Hopefully the Theme Engine plugin will get an update

OK, so I istalled the Plugin, got it all working, (even overriding the DNS rebinding protection so I could get it to work), and then disabled it.

Test Complete....

However now I can no longer access my unraid via my local IP address, and it always redirects to `xxx.unraid.net`

How can I disable the DNS rebinding so I can access my local server?

It sounds like you enabled SSL for local access. Once you do that http is disabled and you need to access through https, which requires a Fully Qualified Domain Name such as yourpersonalhash.unraid.net

If DNS rebinding is enabled on your network the system should prevent you from enabling SSL:

  https://wiki.unraid.net/My_Servers#A_note_regarding_DNS_Rebinding_Protection

If DNS rebinding protection somehow kicked in after you setup SSL then you'll need to research your router and DNS provider to figure out how to disable it.

In the meantime you can access your webgui using this url: https://ipaddress:port (note: httpS not http) just ignore any browser warnings about the certificate not matching the url you are using.

To disable SSL, go to Settings -> Management Access and set "Use SSL/TLS" to "no". This will also disable Remote Access since that requires SSL to be enabled.

I had to disable DNS rebinding to get it working... and then I turned everything off, and then re-enabled DNS rebinding.

True... it setup HTTPS and I put it back to HTTP (thanks) and now I can access my local (SWEET)...

I'm still concerned about the DNS rebinding (which my router (Google WiFi)) seems to remember and is now redirecting (is it a setting in unraid I can disable somewhere (like on the flash config?))

I'm sorry I do not understand the question. I think you might be getting DNS rebinding confused with something else?

I can reproduce this if I purposefully corrupt the config file, so we've got a fix on the way.

In the meantime if anyone else runs into this you can get past it by deleting this file from your flash drive:

    /boot/config/plugins/dynamix.my.servers/myservers.cfg

If someone with the problem wouldn't mind PMing me a copy of the file before you delete it, it might give us an idea of how the file is being corrupted. Don't post it here though, it has sensitive info.

How can I delete the file as I don't have the share enabled?

Does using this plugin to backup the flash somehow help with not needing to wait for LT to manually reactivate the key if the flash drive dies before 1 year has elapsed? This is extremely frustrating, as I seem to be extremely unlucky with my flash drives with none of them lasting even a year.

I am trying to access my server using the files app on my iPhone (I assume via SMB)

It says 0 items and is read only. I've tried even reentering my credentials to no effect.

Could the My Server's plugin be at fault due to the DNS rebinding?

This sounds like a permission issue with SMB not related to my servers.

By default the files app will connect with the guest account that’s likely the issue you’re having here.

I tried connecting with the guest account and it said "Operation could not be completed. Invalid argument"

since the last update my server overlay tells me the following inside managment access for the backup status:

Unable to connect to backup.unraid.net:22

On the other hand, inside my sever dashboard online, its telling that its connected. I tried unraid-api restart but that doesnt fixed that.

any suggestions?

Um running latest unraid version 6.9.2

Flash Backup uses an SSH connection to store your backup in the cloud. For this to work, Unraid needs to be able to make an SSH connection on port 22 to backup.unraid.net.  Something in your network is preventing this, perhaps your router/firewall or possibly your ISP.

Previously this failed silently. In the latest release we now detect this situation and display a message. Until this is resolved, you will not be able to restore a backup from here: https://forums.unraid.net/my-servers/

Having said that, my systems are giving the same error this morning. Looking into it.
