March 19, 20215 yr I googled quite a bit already and browsed through similar questions. But due to lock of knowledge I couldn't find the issue, so I would be glad if someone could point me in the right direction But first some details: Unraid Version: 6.9.1 PCI Card: LSI SAS 9207-8i https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B008J49G9A Things I already looked into: Checked the "System Devices", the card seems to show up. 05:00.0 RAID bus controller [0104]: Broadcom / LSI MegaRAID SAS 2208 [Thunderbolt] [1000:005b] (rev 05) Subsystem: Broadcom / LSI MegaRAID SAS 9271-8i [1000:9271] Kernel driver in use: megaraid_sas Kernel modules: megaraid_sas What confuses me a bit is "9271-8i" being stated as well as "RAID bus controller" That looks to me that A) the card isn't what was advertised and B) the card is in RAID mode. Still I am unsure as it is the first time I had something with SAS in my hands. Diagnostic files are attached. Any tips, ideas and hints on what I should do next would be much appreciated dubai-diagnostics-20210319-0912.zip Edited March 19, 20215 yr by Chuvisco Corrected link
March 19, 20215 yr Community Expert That is not a 9207, which is IT mode only, that's a MegaRAID controller and not recommended for Unriad, though it should still work if you create RAID0/JBOD volumes for all the disks, but again, not recommended.

Thanks for your reply. I will contact the vendor, maybe they sent the wrong card in this case. Guess that would be the most reasonable next step
March 19, 20215 yr Author Marked this topic as solved, as I contacted the vendor and I will get the card replaced with the 9207 I actually ordered in the first place. Thanks @JorgeB for shedding some light into the issue
