[6.9.1] SSH not allowing connection (SOLVED)

Hi all, SSH was working fine in 6.8.3, didn't test it in 6.9.0, but now it's not letting me in no matter what I do.

 

From the logs, when I try to login as root using the same password I use for the web GUI:

Mar 21 09:42:59 Tower sshd[20801]: Connection closed by authenticating user root 10.8.0.10 port 59752 [preauth]

 

Just to verify, I logged into the web GUI witht the same pass:

Mar 21 09:43:56 Tower webGUI: Successful login user root from 10.8.0.10

 

From the logs, when I try to login with another user account:

Mar 21 09:43:11 Tower sshd[21089]: Accepted password for nerb2 from 10.8.0.10 port 59754 ssh2

However, the putty window closes immediately after successful authentication.

 

I verified that root access is set to "yes" in the ssh settings.

I'm having the same issue with SSH since upgrading to 6.9.1.  I can telnet to the console without issue, no issues in GUI, however any SSH connection fails with Access Denied (even on a test account without a PW). 

 

Anyone have a suggestion?

The only access to SSH is via root, and it has to have a password set

I don't understand, I login to the web ui using the root login.  That same login/pass does not work for ssh.  What do I need to do?

Then your issue is with the plugin that you've installed.  I'd uninstall it, reboot (possibly delete SSH / SSL folders on the flash drive) and try again.

Thanks.  After deleting the SSH and SSL folders, and rebooting, I was able to login using the root account.
