March 23, 20215 yr Hi All, I have a question here. Its regards to LSI SAS 9300-8i & 9207-8i HBA controller. There are totally 3 supermicro servers We are going to purchase LSI SAS 9300-8i and SATA SSD(WD disks). Each server,4 * 2TB SSD disks will be connected. Western Digital 2TB WD Blue 3D NAND Internal PC SSD - SATA III 6 Gb/s, 2.5"/7mm, Up to 560 MB/s - WDS200T2B0A Query 1:- 1) LSI SAS 9300-8i HBA controller maximum speed is 12 gbps and per SATA SSD speed is 560 MB/s. It means 4 disks * 560 MB/s = 2240 MB/s can get from each server. Is that correct? Query 2:- 1) LSI SAS 9207-8i HBA controller maximum speed is 6 gbps and per SATA SSD speed is 560 MB/s. It means 4 disks * 560 MB/s = 2240 MB/s can get from each server. Is that correct? Can I get the same speed only 2240 MB/s when I use any of the two controllers? Thank you, Raj Edited March 23, 20215 yr by srmvel mistake
March 23, 20215 yr You don't specifically mention Unraid in your post. Will be using Unraid on this hardware?
March 23, 20215 yr Author Im not using any unraid there on server. This is general query. Can you help on this? Thanks, Raj
March 23, 20215 yr Moved to a more appropriate forum. You can see some real world performance numbers below, they were done using Unraid but should be very similar with any OS. https://forums.unraid.net/topic/41340-satasas-controllers-tested-real-world-max-throughput-during-parity-check/
