[solved] how to request new ip from unraid?

Featured Replies

After I rebooted my new router i lost my connection with the unraid server. the server is still doing a parity check but i can no longer log in to see its progress and or results.

a keyboard and monitor are still atached to the unraid.

Is there a way to renew the ip adress on the server?

and if not how can i savely shutdown the server from the console?

thanks in advance

type this:

/etc/ifplugd/ifplugd.action eth0 down

and then type:

/etc/ifplugd/ifplugd.action eth0 up

thanks  a lot prostuff

I seem to have a new problem i cant no longer login as root. I'm able to type root as user but  when typing a password the field remains empty

the server lost power earlier today. at the moment terracopy had copied about 400gb of data and was in the process off verifying.

the nic on the back of the motherboard is yellow and orange. also the motherboard has beebed like some 2 tone siren.

i'm a little unsure how to proceed

update:

amber means 1gb connection that is nothing to worry about

-still not able to enter password at console when entering as root

- no clue what the 2 tone siren from the motherboard indicates

will continue investigation and update as soon as there is something to tell

here is a reference to the system in use

UPDATE2

after a couple of unclean power downs was finality able to login though web interface

keyboard at real console still cant type login

Final update

as much as i would like to blame the computer I have come to the conclusion it must have been an user mistake.

I either mistyped the password repeatingly or or the keyboard was set wrong it just suddenly worked.

as far as the initial question this topic can be consider solved. and the valuable information will be added to my notes.

regarding the odd-2 tone siren probably its  best to contact supermicro to ask about that.

my apologies for the confussion.

I seem to be having the same issue. On boot it goes to the prompt, I enter root, then to password prompt, and at that point the keyboard will not do anything so I can't log in. Did you find a solution? Any help appreciated!
