[Solved] Lots of Errors with drive over PCI

Featured Replies

Can someone help me with these errors?  I tried 2 different PCI cards and I am getting errors using both.

Does anyone have any suggestions on things I can try.  Drive reads and writes are incredible slow to the drive that is hooked up to the PCI card and normal on the onboard Sata ports.

Have you tried different cables?  The errors indicate CRC (checksum) errors in communicating across the cable to the drive.

It could be they are picking up induced noise from other cables they are bundled with.

Or, it could be a connector that is not properly seated...

Hmm, so I tried switching the drives around.  ie. switch on motherboard and on PCI card and now both work fine?  Curious?  I wonder if it was a cable that wasn't plugged in properly...

Anyway, thanks for the help, sorry I posted this so soon.  I bought a new PCI card and everything.  Guess I have a spare now lol.
