Good Afternoon all

 

im building a new unraid server for home usage

I have one of these cards from an old server, it can be put into HBA mode instead of the RAID mode.

it has 2 SAS connections which i want to run to 8 sata drives.

 

does anyone use this card successfully? or should i stick with the recommended LSI ones and buy one of those?

    and using the hpssa option to enable it

     

     

    I use it on a p420i that does not have native hba mode. If yours supports hba mode, then it should be ok and you'll save yourself a pci slot for other things.
