Inconsistent transfer speeds / Slow Transfers

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I'm stumped; Just got my Unraid server up and running but having very slow disk writes (both to cache, array and even copying between the share internally).

I've done some disk speed tests and they're all fine. I noticed disk writes seem to jump up in time with a CPU spike but then drop back down again to 0 for a while before sporadically jumping up again (There's not a continuous write).

I've enable turbo write and I'm at a loss as to what the issue is? Network speeds have been tested etc and it's hard wired and gigabit. I'm using a Windows 10 PC which is wired into a power line adapter for the file transfer from my previous NAS (OMV) to my Unraid. I even tried hard wiring my PC and ran an Ethernet cable from my switch to my PC and it made no difference.

I've attached logs showing the disk speed tests as well as my full Diagnostic test (I just restarted and tried copying files both between server shares and from my OMV server to demonstrate the problem. I'm only getting a max of around 18MB/s when transferring from this server.

I've also tried copying to each server individually and get much better speeds of circa 100+MB/s - not sure what the issue is.

Cheers for any help :)
