uhd 750 i915 loading

Featured Replies

I posted a feature request for UHD 750 driver support and I wanted to make sure I'm not just stupid and/or doing this wrong.  When I try and load the i915 drivers with an i5-11500 CPU I Get the following error message:

Maybe I'm just doing it wrong?:

[  636.077251] i915 0000:00:02.0: Your graphics device 4c8a is not properly supported by the driver in this
kernel version. To force driver probe anyway, use i915.force_probe=4c8a
module parameter or CONFIG_DRM_I915_FORCE_PROBE=4c8a configuration option,
or (recommended) check for kernel updates.

If so I can delete the feature request as I don't want to waste anyone's time.

Presumably, it's too new to be supported by a kernel that was released before the processor. Maybe wait for the new code to make it into the kernel source.
