[4.7] make_bootable.bat

Featured Replies

make_bootable.bat depends on OS language. For example, this script fails on Win7 with russian UI.

Make Bootable
-------------
 ? ???? G ?? ?? UNRAID
?? ?? ?: 6A6F-018B

Error: volume label must be UNRAID
 ????? ???? ?? ???? . . .

if "%label%"=="UNRAID" goto valid ----> let's print %label% before if:

Make Bootable
-------------
 ? ???? G ?? ?? UNRAID
?? ?? ?: 6A6F-018B

?? UNRAID
Error: volume label must be UNRAID
 ????? ???? ?? ???? . . .

"????? UNRAID" != "UNRAID". Fix (for russian UI):

for /f "tokens=1-6*" %%1 in ('vol %~d0') do (
 set label=%%7
 goto checkit
)

Make Bootable
-------------
 ? ???? G ?? ?? UNRAID
?? ?? ?: 6A6F-018B

G:\syslinux -ma G:
 ????? ???? ?? ???? . . .

Do you know how to make a bootable without using the BAT file?

Use the Syslinux utility to create a bootable flash.

I've already fixed this script for my language. Looks like it should be rewritten to support non-english Windows too.

Perhaps you can zip your modified version and attach it to a post to help someone else who does not have your advanced level of skills at batch programming?
