April 2, 20215 yr I got a just got all my data moved off my old FreeNAS box. Now I want to load up Unraid on that hardware and sync my data back.. Any apps you can suggest for doing this or what would be the recommended way. I plan to have 2 unraid servers and the same dockers ect configured. But I'll be just turning one on of for a few hours to sync data then I'll shut it down before I go to work. So at night it will only run for a few hours. I might start out weekly it depends on how much data I accumulate. But I need something to help with the big initial data sync.
April 2, 20215 yr I'd use rsync from the command line, or in a User Script for the initial sync and for subsequent ones. It big advantage is that if you need to bail out of it at any time you can run it again to pick up where you left off. If you prefer something a little more graphical, my second choice would be Midnight Commander (mc, included in Unraid OS), but it lacks the power of rsync. A drag and drop file manager Docker container, such as Krusader would be my third choice, but someone else might know of a container that uses rsync and provides a friendly interface, so offering the best of both worlds.
April 2, 20215 yr Author I dont mind CLI commands. My only issue is I don't know many linux commands. what all would I need to do to try that?
