Thumb Drive spindown on 6.9.x

Featured Replies

I keep an unassigned device USB thumbdrive mounted as a nightly backup destination.
After upgrading to 6.9.0, and remaining with 6.9.1,  I noticed that unRAID is trying to spin it down every hour.

Any cause for concern, or any adjustment I could make to have that ignored?

Tnx

Array and pool devices allow you to over-ride the global spin-down delay, but unassigned devices don't seem to have that option. Apart from the hourly entry in the syslog, I don't think it's a problem though. The spin-down command will just be ignored. If it bothers you, you could maybe file a 6.9.1 bug report, rating it as an Annoyance.
