Adding 10 GbE

Recommended Posts

Hello,

My wife has started to archive large video files that she creates each week for her business onto our Unraid server.  I'm seeking guidance in adding 10GbE capability between the Unraid server and our Unifi switch that has 2 SFP ports and 2 SFP+ ports.  Unraid runs on a Dell T7610 box.

To add this capability do just need to put an Intel X520-DA2 into the Dell box and connect that network adapter to the Unifi switch with a DAC like this?

To take advantage of the 10GbE connection speed, am I correct in assuming that I'll have to upgrade the Unraid regular SSD cache to PCIe NVMe?

Thanks

Use DAC fine, but I use optical, pls also check Unifi forum does DAC haven't issue with your switch.
