Is there some sort of update notification system going on?

Something like a twitter feed for unraid Server version updates?

How about some kind of email newsletter or something?

I find myself going to lime-technology every other day to check for new versions.

 

Would be great if unRAID itself has an update check.

Not forum reply notifications, I'm talking about notifications on a new version of unRAID Server software.

Yup, you subscribe to the announcement section of this forum, as new version will be announced there first.

 

I'm soon going to be reorganizing the forums.  Below is what I have in mind, comments welcome.

 

Why am I doing this?

 

    * I want a non-posting board that users can subscribe to for important news such as new releases and critical bugs/issues.

it works as you want it

 

only new threads in that forum will trigger an e mail

 

and since LimeTech  is the only one who can post a new thread in that forum is it only sending when a new release is made

 

it will NOT send you an e mail for any posts which are made withing the thread... (or you have to specifically subscribe to that in the thread)

Perhaps you should mention this in the "Roadmap" Section.  I understand what you're looking for, and it's not a poor-man's forum post notification system.  For a commercial product there should be some kind of built in notification of when a new version is available.
