No SMART Info for disks used in the system

Featured Replies

Accessing the drives from the UI (Main -> click on disk name) shows "Can not read attributes" on Attributes section of the disks.

If I go on terminal and run smartctl --all /dev/sd* does correctly return all the smart info about the disks.

We use Unraid version 6.9.1 2021-03-08.

Being more convenient to access it thru UI, I would like to further investigate this issue.

Can anyone help me by pointing out where to look to solve this issue?

Thank you!

Strange since SMART is working for the diags, on settings -> disk settings -> global SMART monitoring is the default SMART controller set to automatic? If yes change to a different one, apply, change back to automatic and apply again.

Yes, Default SMART Controller Type is set to Automatic.

Changed it to ATA, apply, then back to Automatic, apply again.

Nothing changed unfortunately, checked individually each disks for SMART attributes, the section is empty, only "Can not read attributes" error is shown. Maybe I have to wait for a while, I don't know how often are this SMART info gathered.

Should already be available, no idea what the problem is if it's working for the diags.

I dont think GUI will show if drives are spundown. This command will spin them up.

Good point, it won't, I assumed the disks were up.

It seems the issue was related to unraid-logo-tweaker plugin.

After removing unraid-logo-tweaker plugin, all disks SMART attributes are now shown correctly.

Thank you.

Have a great day!

Dear friends,

After I updated my server to unraid 6.9.2 I cannot see my drives attributes in the GUI.

The only one that shows up is my nvme.

It has been a while, and I cannot figure it out why.

In my diagnose files, attributes are there.

@FlorinS how did you manage to find which plugging was conflicting?

The only difference I can think, besides the NVME been NVME, is that NVME was installed after my unraid server was updated to 6.9.2.

I look forward to hearing from you guys,

Lucas Mendes
