 I'm going to use lsi sas 9300-8i with 8 sata ssd disks. 

 

I don't know what is mean by single link and dual link for sas controller?

That only applies when connecting the HBA to a SAS expander or backplane with a built in SAS expander, one cable=single link, two cables=dual link.

For example, If I want to use 24 sata ssd drives with hba 9300,then I can use sas expander. 

 

Hba 9300---Sas expander---sas cable----sata ssd disks. 

 

Dual link means, I can attach sas cables with 2 ports of sas expander?
