February 23, 201115 yr I just checked my smart history and my parity drive is reporting this Disk 0: WARNING - Current_Pending_Sector it is now 1 (warning threshold is 1) What should I do? The drive is only a few months old syslog-2011-02-22.txt
February 23, 201115 yr The next time the pending sector written there are 2 possibilities: 1) The pending sector will be written successfully and the current pending sector count will return to zero; no harm done. 2) The sector fails again and will be reallocated. The reallocated sector count will increase to one and the current pending sector count will return to zero. There are several thousand spare sectors and one reallocation is nothing to worry about. If the reallocated sector count continues to increase then the drive is failing. Keep an eye on this drive.
