Filezilla corrupting files?!?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Here's a strange one.  I've noticed recently (by accident) that sometimes files which I transfer to my Unraid server using Filezilla are coming up as corrupted.  I often FTP to the server using Filezilla as it's quicker, especially for dvd rips that I'm archiving.  But the file sizes don't match up and the file's are often corrupt & unplayable.  Copying the files back to the source confirms this isn't an issue with network bandwith or the like, with the files often being +/- few megs in difference.  So the question is why would this be happening?  I have the transfer type set to 'auto', should I set this to binary?  Or could it be the Unraid server itself?

Any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks Matt.

Always set the transfer mode to binary when using FTP.

Hi, thanks for the reply... next question.  Is this data now corrupt forever, or can I reverse the process somehow ??? (fTP it back or something!).  I've realised this is affecting more files than I originally thought.

Thanks, Matt.

Unfortunately, you will need to re-transfer the files.
