April 19, 20215 yr Hey there! I almost finished my new unRAID box today (my SATA power cable was .75 inches too short for the last power plug on my backplane rip). Trying to get everything else done why I wait for the cable extension to come in. One of the last things I needed to do was to actually create the unRAID bootable flash drive. I downloaded the unRAID Flash Creator and opened my brand new Samsung Fit flash drive. However, the USB creator threw an error that the flash drive had an invalid GUID. The specific flash drive, Samsung Fit, placed #3 on SpaceInvaderOne's video ranking flash drives for booting unRAID - so it shouldn't be a device issue. A post on reddit suggested following these steps - so I followed all of those successfully and it still wouldn't work a second time. Flash drives aren't super expensive so if I have to get another it's not the end of the world. I'm just trying to figure out if there is a fix I can do, or something else I can try before I order another. Any help or advice is appreciated, thanks a lot! *edit* Device ID that shows up on when I try to perform the unRAID bootable image **last edit, problem fixed** So I borrowed my GF's laptop and it worked flawlessly the first time. When I loaded up the unRAID USB creator the proper device ID showed up. Not sure why it didn't work on my desktop, but it did on her laptop. In any event, the problem is fixed. A mod can delete this if they want, or leave up in case someone has this issue in the future. Edited April 19, 20215 yr by 222
