[SOLVED] Noobish Questions

Hey all

I've got Unraid Pro running (only 2 WD 2gig Green Drives but more to be added as I know it's stable etc)

My initial copy with robocopy seemed to work fine (took an age) but I then tried to copy more over using the /MIR tag which started to wipe out what I had already done. I stopped the command promt and set about copyinh everything agianw ith robocopy but using a few threads to seed things up.

Everything seemed corrupted, so I highleghted them all and hit delete. Recopied and everything seemed fine. I've got the parity drive turned off btw until thingswwere copied over and up and running.

Upon tyring to update the SMB://mediahub/Television tonight onto my alienware laptop running xbmc it's jsut lagged out and won't add a single directory and seems to onc again be corrupted. I'm thinking the best bet is to start again. Wipe the entire array and start from scratch. As an utter noob to linux I'm struggling how to figure out how to essentially format the whole thing and start from scratch. Every bit of data is still in it's original places so I can just recopy once I've cleaned up and started again.

Basically can anyone point me to a way to essentially nuke this build so I can start again. I'm thinking it's the best way.

I don't think that you plan will fix things. You need to determine what is corrupting the files. It is very unlikely that unRAID has anything to do with the file corruption. Does XBMC play them from the original location?

Yeah it plays them no problem, when looking to the server it just craps out for lack of a better description. but that will be due to the corruption. I've got a preclear going on both drives at the minute, I want to stress the drive and see if any errors pop up.

I've been using Robocopy /MIR each time, I think it might also be an idea to jsut copy some files over normally and go from there.
