April 20, 20215 yr Please Help! I had my USB drive fail, I have read through the instructions on replacing the drive, however, I have no idea what order the drives were in..... any help is greatly appreciated as I can not afford to lose that much data! I do have an original backup of the drive, however, I know for a fact that I have replaced many of the drives for larger ones. Edited April 20, 20215 yr by dbrow43
April 21, 20215 yr Community Expert You can find which ones are the data drives by mounting them with UD, use read only mode to keep parity 100% valid, did you have single or dual parity?
July 27, 20214 yr Ahh ok, this is UD: https://forums.unraid.net/topic/92462-unassigned-devices-managing-disk-drives-and-remote-shares-outside-of-the-unraid-array/ Used it to see which disk was unmountable, that one is the parity drive. After that, I just put the rest of the disks in place and rebuild the array if it's necessary. Edited July 27, 20214 yr by LumberJackGeek
