Printer via usb not showing on windows 10 VM, other devices fine

I have a PCI usb controller bypassed to the windows 10 VM. Other devices such as a usb Bluetooth adapter show up on windows. But the printer via usb will not show (works fine when plugged into standard desktop pc) . Any ideas on what I am missing?
