April 23, 20215 yr Faster disks or controller, depends on where the bottleneck is. Typically it's the disks.
April 23, 20215 yr Author I used the DiskSpeed docker to check all disks they are all fast enough. I think there is something else solowing down the whole maschin... homeserver01-diagnostics-20210423-1823.zip Edited April 23, 20215 yr by MrYoshii
April 23, 20215 yr Community Expert Parity disk is SMR (also disk6), but parity can really have an impact on all write performance.
April 23, 20215 yr Author its still goin slow as hell.. is there a way to swap the slow wd drive with a faster one from the array? i can move all the data from one of the drives and use this one as parity.
April 24, 20215 yr Community Expert 12 hours ago, MrYoshii said: but not 10 MB/s slow Very possible to get 10MB/s writes with SMAR drives, I get that with some of mine when they hit the SMR wall, you should at least avoid SMR for parity since that will impact writes to any array device, even non SMR.
April 27, 20215 yr Author i have now swaped the SMR drive i will check and if its still slow as hell i will post again ^^
