February 27, 201115 yr I know I can't have teaming, but I'm just wondering If I can have a second NIC connected directly to my PVR with a Crossover cable? Each box would have a 2nd NIC that talks to the rest of the Network. Will this work or does UnRaid only know about the first NIC?
February 28, 201115 yr No, unRAID only supports the first NIC it finds. Peter Perhaps a better terminology is the unRAID only uses the first NIC it finds. You can set up the second NIC however you like manually.

I have not done this manually myself, though I know someone on these forums has. Maybe do some searching around to see if you can find his post. But for a quick idea on what you need to do try this page. the ifconfig eth0 part is the one you need to look at. For setting up the second nick you will need to probably use eth1 instead of eth0.
March 3, 201115 yr Did you get the second NIC working? Also, many newer hardware auto detects if it needs to do "cross over", so you may not even need a special cable (depending on your NICs used).

I'm putting together a ZFS box, so I have not had a chance to play with the NICs. My new TV server moved to the HT last weekend, so UnRaid and the TV Box are no longer in the same room. I will have to move the drives to the new ZFS box in stages, so they will all be together again at some point. I may play with the crossover cable then.
