Unraid and Media Companion

Featured Replies

Evening,

I've recently got ym UNRAID server up and running beautifully (no thanks to a dire NIC)

But I've hit a wall on 1 thing, I've got my entire collection on there now (well TV the movies are going to filter over tonight)

Media companion gen 2 build 3.400 dies whenever I point it at the server. And by dies I mean utterly freezes, only thing I can do is task manager it away. It'll reload thinking the directory is there but the second I ask it to update...boom. Same thing.

I know MC is fine as it works like a dream with the directories still on my w7 hdds.

Am I missing something glaringly obvious?

I've mapped the share as a network drive, I've jsut navigated to //tower/tv etc. None work when I ask it to update the folders.

I'm assuming you're using shares, but are you using Samba or NFS?  If it's NFS, you need to add *(rw) to the "Export NFS" line on the "Shares" tab.

Samba, doing it all over W7 and my normal windows workgroup. I added the *(rw) as well to try it and no luck.

The wierd bit is XBMC can pull everything fine. It's just when  MC tries to load the files it dies.

That's an indication of a protocol problem of some kind.  I don't know anything about Media Companion, so I'm out of ideas beyond that theory.

Well that's a start, thank you. I assume I cannot be the only person on the planet using this combo, but according to google I'm the only one with the issue.

I'm going to cycle the power on everything see if that kicks it into gear.

Then back to the drawing board I would guess.
