Can systems be upgraded to Thunderbolt/Lightpeak?

I am new to building these systems, and am planning to build one in a few weeks. I have all Apple hardware in my house, so the announcement of Thunderbolt/Lightpeak on the new Macbook Pros got me thinking. If I build a system now, will I be able to upgrade it down the road to Lightpeak if I get a new computer with it installed? Any other considerations I should take into account when building now to make sure I can transition later?

Thanks,

Vince

unRAID is a server storage system or NAS (network attached storage). Thunderbolt, is designed for DAS (direct-attached storage). If you need centralized storage for multiple client systems, unRAID might be a good choice if you just need storage for a single computer/workstation on the only computer that supports Thunderbolt right now you might want to look for those solutions as they become available.
