ssd storage

Featured Replies

hi I'm wanting to setup home assistant in  a VM on unraid,  with 2 or 3 docker containers.

My hardware setup will only have   2 ssd drives ,   no other drives,  should I place drives in aray, and parity.

or some drive cache pool. Or dose it matter at all.

Disks in the array can't be trimmed. You are required to have at least one data disk in the array but you don't have to actually use it so a flash drive in the array and then the 2 SSDs in a pool, raid1 if you want redundancy.

@ Constructor .Thanks sounds like a plan, never thought about using flash drive as array drive

Consider that it might be handy to use the array as a backup target, if nothing else.

But in the more general case, where you want to have parity, only SATA/SAS drives should be in the array.

This makes even more sense.
