Drive Support Question on Possible New Equipment

Recommended Posts

I cant find a definite answer on recognizing larger then 2tb drives. If the controller's on the mobo don't support larger then 2tb then I would need to get AOC-SASLP-MV8 and tie the backplane into it?

SAS

Broadcom SAS1068E

RAID 0, 1, 10 support

(Optional: AOC-IButton68) RAID 5 support

SATA

Intel ICH10R SATA 3.0Gbps Controller

RAID 0, 1, 5, 10 support (Windows)

RAID 0, 1, 10 support (Linux)

Backblane is SAS-826TQ

4 Bays are wired to the onboard SATA controller – SATA ONLY

X8DT3-LN4F Motherboard

Select Your Memory Configuration
24GB will be configured 6x4GB 10600R ECC Registered
48GB will be configured 12x4GB 10600R ECC Registered

From this I take it is direct connection due to 8 bays are into one controller and 4 are into another controller

Thanks!
