Error in syslog when I started a preclear

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I got the below trace in syslog after I started a preclear on a spare drive. Looks like its related to the SATA PCIe card the drive is on (note there are other drives on that card). Any ideas if this is worth worrying about.

Any ideas on the above....or should I simply ignore it. It looks very similar to the errors during boot when the system tries to load the driver for the X8SIL PCIe SATA cards for each subsequent card, but should it be happening at odd times?

I've never seen those call trace errors before, so I don't know what to make of them.  The HDIO_GET_IDENTITY error is common of the Supermicro AOC-SASLP-MV8 controller cards and can be ignored.  What controller card(s) are you using?

Hi,

Using 3 of the SuperMicro AOC-SASLP-MV8 cards.
