WildGaur Posted May 3, 2021 Posted May 3, 2021 I had setup a windows 10 VM in unraid, I havent used VM for a week and now I cant access the VM as I have forgot my login password. The VM is still running as I can access the blue iris through webui. Is there anyway to rest the login password so I can access my system. Thanks in advance. Quote
JonathanM Posted May 3, 2021 Posted May 3, 2021 Are you talking about the windows login? Or Unraid? For windows, it depends on whether it's a local or MS account. Quote
arturovf Posted May 3, 2021 Posted May 3, 2021 If is a local account, a simple google search tells you how can it be done (change password) Quote
WildGaur Posted May 5, 2021 Author Posted May 5, 2021 @jonathanm For windows login - yes it's a local account Quote
WildGaur Posted May 5, 2021 Author Posted May 5, 2021 When i tried to use the Reset Password from the login screen, I get the windows pop up message saying No Drive. Quote
JonathanM Posted May 5, 2021 Posted May 5, 2021 As mentioned by arturovf, google reset windows 10 password and find a method that works for you. Temporarily setting up a new VM with windows 10 installation media and point it to the existing vdisk.img is a good way to use the rescue boot methods. Quote
MarekNosek Posted October 23, 2022 Posted October 23, 2022 Hi, what do you mean by " point it to the existing vdisk.img " ? Thanks in advance for the help. Quote

Select the vdisk image of the VM you wish to operate on as the hard drive of the temporary VM you are using to run the rescue boot media. Quote
