PCI-E X4 Addon Cards

Featured Replies

I would like to add some speedy cache to my unraid box... I have used all of the SATA ports, and i connect my spare NVME drive to the slot i will lose 2 sata ports on the motherboard. I am ordering a PCIe 3.0 (PEX4M2E1) NVME PCIe M.2 Adapter

I know i am going to need to upgrade my license to move beyond 6 drives. But before I buy the upgrade license i want to make sure that this card will work with Unraid.

Has anyone done something similar, are these generic cards that would have linux/unraid support?

That will work, all that card does is pass the lanes to the nvme, so as far as your system is concerned it is directly connected.

I've run a single nvme adaptor like this one in the past and it worked well.
