Removed disk from array : now shows up with red cross - contents emulated?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

A while back unraid reported that one of my disks was starting to fail (showing errors), so I decided to copy all the stuff of the disk to other disks in the array and remove it.  Luckily, there was not much stuff on it.

I couldn't copy all files because some files were acting weird.  I couldn't even delete them, and hence, I couldn't delete the folder they were in on the disk.

I decided to simply remove the disk ; I still had a copy of what was left on the disk elsewhere, so not a problem.

I shut down the system and removed the disk.  They after rebooting the system I got the mention that disk 4 was missing.  I then realized that I did it wrong : I had to unassign the drive before removing it.  So I re-attached the disk, booted up again and the system welcomed the drive back.  I then unassigned it, shut down again and removed the disk.

Now the disk still shows up with a red cross, saying : "device is missing (disable) - contents emulated".  I don't want this, I want it gone.

How can I do this?
