Case: Sharkoon Rebel 9 Economy Edition

Drive Cage(s): ICY DOCK MB455SPF-B (2)

Power Supply: 650 Watt Corsair TX

SATA Expansion Card(s): Supermicro AOC-SASLP-MV8, PCI-Express x1 Controller Card (Silicon Image SIL3132)

Cables: Some no name breakout cables from ebay

Fans: An extra old noname I had laying around

 

Parity Drive: 2 TB Green EARS w/ jumper

Data Drives: 2 TB Green EARS w/ jumper, 1 TB WD Greens EADS (3)

Cache Drive: 250 GB Hitachi

Total Drive Capacity: 5 TB

 

Primary Use: Media storage for HTPC

Likes: The ease of expanding (redundant) storage capacity. But I guess that's the whole point of unraid

Dislikes: The difficulty of expanding useages beyond the core purpose of being a storage server (For a noob)

Especially considering that every off the shelf home NAS has plenty of easy to use functionality

Add Ons Used:  unMenu, HandBrake

Future Plans: Adding more datadrives, adding more functionality, hopefully through VMware, if I am capable of it.
